Dear Prospective Teacher,

Do you wish you could get advice from principals about how to look for a position? Want to know what’s going through a principal’s head as they review your resume or conduct your interview? Are you curious about what to expect during your first year of teaching? Join us for this principal panel event – a roundtable discussion with four experienced public school principals, followed by a networking session with more than 20 additional principals from around New York City. This event is hosted by the New York City Department of Education and is open to graduating education students from Queens College and St. John’s University who will be certified to teach by September 2014.

Dress is business casual. Bring multiple copies of your resume to share with principals who will be hiring.

Application Deadlines
For the 2014-15 hiring season, the Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality (TRQ) has established the following deadlines:

Monday, April 25 – Final deadline for consideration to the TeachNYC Select Recruits program. Candidates who apply by this deadline may also be considered for a wide range of job search and school networking events.

Monday, June 30 – Final priority deadline of the season and the last chance for candidates who wish to receive our standard review process, New Teacher Finder consideration and related support from the Office of Teacher Recruitment and Quality.

PLEASE NOTE: Applications received after the June 30 deadline will only be reviewed on an as-needed basis, and we cannot guarantee additional support for candidates who apply after this point
